How Our Soap Brings Hope
Imagine a world where your options for making money are cleaning houses or watching children at around two dollars an hour. For many people we work with, this is their reality. However, with the help of The Passionista, one woman’s circumstance has changed.
For several years now The Passionista has been making soap to support ministry projects financially. As the business has grown, it has also become a way to offer a job skill to ladies. Melissa began working with a lady in our program a couple of years ago to teach her how to make soap.
Now she joyfully comes to the famous “Soap Lab” 2-3 times a week to make soap. Just the other day she told Melissa that she was so happy that the Lord had provided her this opportunity. She feels that she has a renewed sense of dignity and pride in being able to use this learned skill as a way of income. She was excited that her income was no longer limited to only cleaning houses.
